QUETTA:
Two people – a sub-inspector and a member of the Ahmedi community – were gunned down in Pishin and Quetta during two separate incidents of firing on Friday. In the first incident, an unidentified armed man opened indiscriminate fire on Sub-Inspector Manzoor Hussain near District Jail, Pishin, and fled. Hussain received multiple bullet wounds and died before reaching the hospital. “According to initial reports, the deceased cop was a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan and the incident appears to be a case of target killing,” a police official said. In the second incident, armed men intercepted a man, later identified as Maqsood Ahmed, at gunpoint in Satellite town, Block 4, and tried to snatch his motorbike. They opened fire when Ahmed offered resistance and he died on the spot. “The victim belonged to the Ahmedi community,” the authorities have said.
