Two security personnel were kidnapped by unidentified militants in an attack on their checkpoint in Ghulam Khan tehsil of North Waziristan on Friday.
An official of the security forces said that around 9am more than a dozen militants came into Pakistani territory from Khost province of Afghanistan and attacked a security forces check post in Bangi Dar, 12 kilometres north of Miranshah, the headquarters of the agency.”
“Both personnel were taken by militants across the border,” the official added.
The kidnapped men have been identified as Adil Hussain and Niaz Ali. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the abduction and security forces have cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
The area has check posts of both foreign troops and Afghan security forces.
