Cabinet reshuffle: Sharmila Farooqi to head Auqaf dept

Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah reshuffled portfolios of two cabinet members on Friday. According to a handout, Sharmila Farooqi, special assistant to CM on media affairs, has now been put in charge of the Auqaf department. Haji Khan Chachar, another adviser to the CM, has been allotted the portfolio of narcotics. The Auqaf department position was originally held by Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s Rafique Banbhan, who had resigned after his party developed differences with the government over the new local government law.
