Three people injured in Quetta blast

Police say bomb was planted in a garbage dump.

QUETTA:
At least three people sustained injuries when a bomb planted in a garbage dump went off at Jan Muhammad Road in Quetta on Friday, Industrial Police Station’s Constable Nasrullah told The Express Tribune.

Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area soon after the blast and shifted the injured to Combine Military Hospital (CMH) for treatment.

According to other sources, the bomb was planted in a parcel bag which was placed outside a scrap shop.

The injured were identified as a Mazhar Saeed, Awais Khan and Mazhar Hussain.


“Mazhar Saeed is in critical condition,” said a doctor.

According to bomb disposal squad, around 4-5kg explosive material was used in the blast.

Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Khan Raisani condemned the blast and ordered Home Secretary Akber Hussain Durrani to investigate the incident and submit a report as soon as possible.

The chief minister also announced that the Government of Balochistan will bear the expenditure of the treatment of the injured, and ordered the police to arrest the culprits behind the blast.
