Targeting education: Boys school blown up in Charsadda

Three rooms of the school were partially damaged while its boundary wall and one room was completely destroyed.

CHARSADDA: A government-run boys middle school in the Aqrab Daag area of Charsadda was destroyed when explosives planted by unknown miscreants went off on Wednesday.

Saro Kallay police station SHO Wilayat Shah said that at around 6:30pm, a huge explosion was heard in Malik Hashim Kallay. Police rushed to the spot and discovered that the boundary wall and a room of the school had been destroyed.

“Three rooms were partially damaged while glasses used in windowpanes have smashed,” the SHO said, adding that bomb disposal squad has also informed about the incident.

“No FIR has been registered as yet,” the police officer further said, adding that the watchman of the school was absent from his duty at the time.
