Suo motu: LHC seeks report on gang rape

According to press reports, Dilbar Khan and 23 other men assaulted and raped his ex-wife and his daughter.

LAHORE: The chief justice of the Lahore High Court has taken suo motu notice of a gang rape of a woman and her daughter in Chakwal, allegedly led by the woman’s ex-husband and her daughter’s father.  The official in charge of the complaint cell at the LHC has written to the Chakwal district and sessions judge directing him to look into the matter and submit a detailed report on the steps taken by the local police, along with his own observations, within a week. According to press reports, Dilbar Khan and 23 other men assaulted and raped his ex-wife and his daughter in a dispute over who the daughter would marry. The girl told reporters that she was raped by her father.
