MULTAN:

The Punjab governor on Tuesday held the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) responsible for the hold up in the creation of a new province in the southern part of the province.

Latif Khan Khosa made the statement at the Multan Airport. Khosa said if the PML-N cooperated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), “the new province can be created tomorrow”.

He said the PPP was serious about creating a Seraiki province, adding that it would do so as soon as it has the required two-third majority. When asked by reporters whether the president and the governor would refrain from addressing public rallies, according to Supreme Court directions, the governor replied in the affirmative. Though the president cannot be separated from politics in a democratic system, said Khosa, the party would do as the Supreme Court had ordered.
