LAHORE:

The police have ruled out the possibility of a targeted attack on Sister Bargeeta Almby, a 70-year-old Swedish Christian missionary who was seriously injured in a gun attack on Monday.

However, police officials said the motive behind the incident remains unknown, adding that the assailants would be arrested soon.

Almby was shot in broad daylight by gunmen near her house in Lahore. She suffered a bullet injury on her neck and was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, where she is still stated to be in a critical condition. Model Town police official Ehsanul Haq Hashmi said the attack was not targeted and claimed that the assailants would be arrested within two to three days.
