Investigation: LHC orders enquiry against SP

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the Faisalabad regional police officer to hold an inquiry on an illegal order passed by Investigations SP Rai Zameerul Haq to cancel a case and submit its report within seven days. Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi passed the order while hearing an application filed by Faryad Hussain for bail in a case registered against him and others at Sadar Jaranwala Police Station under Section 324, 337-F (V), 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. As proceedings started on Tuesday, SP Haq appeared before the court but failed to satisfy it regarding his order. The court reprimanded Haq for passing the illegal order.
