Fashion Police: Drably casual!

Zoya Akhtar shows up to premiere of Talaash in a bummy look, having put no effort into her outfit.

It seems that ‘simple and casual’ was the theme for the premiere of Bollywood’s Talaash! A large crowd showed up for the event, but only a few managed to get it right but sadly Zoya Akhtar wasn’t one of them. The film-maker was spotted in a bummy look at the Aamir-Rani-Kareena starrer film showing, and it was evident that she put no efforts into her outfit.

Hair

Her wavy, dark locks falling loose were doing no wonder at all. Seemed like she forgot to brush her hair and must have run all the way to the premiere with her hair blowing wildly in the wind. We wish Zoya had done a funky hairdo, which could have lifted up her appearance a bit.

Accessories

And to top it all, there were no accessories at all! Just to add a bit of fashion knowledge: accessories are the solution to your problem; they can help elevate a look from drab to chic. Girl, a funky belt or some nice bracelets were the best way to add some oomph.

Make-up

We know that Zoya meant to go all casual for the event, but that doesn’t mean wearing no make-up at all. A little blush, thin eyeliner, and a nude lipstick could have enhanced her otherwise bland appearance.

Outfit

The 38-year-old film director went with a laid-back look in loose-fitting denim pants, an over-sized grey tee and a cozy grey jacket. We are not a fan of those baggy trousers. That design is barely tolerable on men, let alone females.

Shoes

Seriously Zoya? A pair of slippers was the best thing you could find? What happened to good old closed-toe shoes? This young celeb seriously needs some fashion classes and maybe even a stylist!

Wore it better

Kangana Ranaut



The 25-year-old flaunted her casual look stylishly. She chose an understated white tank-and-legging combo paired with closed-toe shoes. Her funky bag and a brown, leather belt added more style to her gear. Wearing only a coral lip shade and leaving her curls hanging loose, Kangana knew how to rock this look.

Anushka Sharma



Bollywood beauty Anushka Sharma rocked her casual look at film Talaash premiere in floral palazzos over a black tank top. She accessorised with a classy, brown leather belt and some bracelets along with minimal make-up. Anushka, too, wore a pair of slippers but something that added more flavour to her look unlike Zoya.

Kiran Rao



Film Talaash’s director and Aamir Khan’s wife stayed true to her eclectic style by sporting a hot leather leggings and olive-green blouse combo. She accessorised the outfit with sequined peep-toes, a black purse and dangling earrings and wore very neutral make-up. Way to go rocker chic!
