Official fees waived off for amnesty seekers and travel documents will be issued to everyone without any charge.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan said on Monday that amnesty granted to people who are illegally residing in UAE, demonstrates magnanimity and respect for human rights. Speaking at a dress rehearsal for the facility created for amnesty seekers from Pakistan at the embassy, the ambassador stated that Pakistan’s foreign policy attaches great importance to the welfare of overseas citizens. Praising the UAE government and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi for granting amnesty to all categories of people who are out of status, Khan said that keeping in view the spirit of UAE’s announcement, official fees have been waived off for the amnesty seekers and travel documents will be issued to everyone without any charge.

@asma: I think UAE is almost the same as pakistan and india, very crowded, no human rights and employers are holding the wages from their employees and Plus the worst thing is, the sub continent citizens are treated as sub-humans.I am scared there every time I have a stop over and spend a day for my next flight. As for over stayed (NOT ILLEGALS) people, they should be kicked out from anywhere in the world if they don't follow the law of the land.so Good on UAE for doing that.

@Saqib: Don't think UAE is doing anyone a favour - it wants illegals OUT of the country, rather than clogging its jails. As for UAE turning into another Karachi, that is hardly likely - warped religious beliefs and extensive corruption are not an issue in the UAE.
