Balochistan violence: Two killed over land dispute in Dera Murad Jamali

Two groups of the Umrani tribe clashed over land disputes.

At least two people were killed and two injured on Monday in a firing incident at the Khan Kot area of Dera Murad Jamali district of Naseerabad.


According to sources, two groups of the Umrani tribe clashed over land disputes and opened indiscriminate fire on each other.

Consequently two people were killed on the spot and two others sustained serious injuries.

The deceased and injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Dera Murad Jamali. The deceased were identified as Abdul Sataar and Ali Buksh.

Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the crime scene soon after and cordoned off the area.

“The cause of the killings was a land dispute between two groups of the Umrani tribe,” the police said,adding that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
