BISP: Health insurance for the poorest

The pilot project for the health insurance programme has been launched from Faisalabad.

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Farzana Raja has said that health insurance to the tune of Rs25,000 will be provided to the poorest families in the country for the first time under the Health Insurance Programme of BISP.


She was giving a briefing to a China Investment Corporation (CIC) delegation which is currently on visit to Pakistan to explore investment avenues in different fields. She also informed the delegation that the pilot project for the health insurance programme has been launched from Faisalabad. Farzana Raja informed the delegation that BISP is a flagship programme of the government for women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation.
