Fighting terror: Cellphones have become terrorists’ instrument, says Malik

OKARA:

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday that all cellular companies are bound to adopt a biometric data system within three months for selling cellphone SIMs in the country.

“No mobile phone SIM will be sold by an unconcerned person or at shops in the future,” he said. “For this purpose, a law will be introduced shortly,” he added.  Motorcycles and mobile phones have become instruments for terrorists to unleash violence, which is why the government banned them for a while, the interior minister told journalists in Okara.

Asked if the government planned any operation against proscribed organisations in Punjab, Malik said it was for the provincial government to decide. However, he added that the federal government was ready if asked for help.

About the fluid security situation in Karachi, Malik said that being the hub of commercial activities in the country, the city could not be left at the mercy of miscreants. “The government is serious about maintaining peace in Karachi and, if needed, the Army can be called out,” he added.

On the issue of Kalabagh Dam, the interior minister said that it would not be built without a national consensus.

Banning mobile phones and motor cyclesn is not the answer what will be the fate of service providers who spent huge money on net work building the Govt must take action against the culprits instead of harassing the common man.In Indian Panjab in1982 bullet motor cycles were banned but the terrorist did not stop.

In the last would you like to answer these questions 1-In India and USA there are more terrorism's threats as compared with Pakistan but why don't they block mobile phones' services and pillion-riding and motorcycle riding in their countries? Why? 2-Sri Lanka has been fighting with Tamil Tigers approximately 5 years and Tamil Tigers were the biggest security threats for Sri Lankan government but the Sri Lankan government didn't block mobile phones services and motorcycle and pillion-riding riding. Why? Rehman Malik why don't you admit it that you have badly badly badly failed to provide security and protection to the nation this is why you take such these types of security and protection steps/measures temporarily, for time passing and for the time being instead of permanently and your 60% security personnels are deployed on the security of president, ministers and bureaucrats and the left 40% security personnels are for the nation.....
