ISLAMABAD: The leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded (PML- Likeminded) has decided to seek an explanation from its secretary general Humayun Akhtar Khan for his participation in a meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) manifesto committee.

A meeting of the party held in Lahore on Saturday and presided over by its president Hamid Nasir Chatha decided that Humayun should be summoned to explain as to why he attended the PML-N meeting without seeking prior permission from his party.

Attendees at the meeting included Saleem Saifullah Khan, Kashmala Tariq, Iqbal Dar, Maj (Retd) Ghulam Abbas, Begum Yaqoob and Jamilur Rehman.

They expressed their reservations on Humayun’s participation in the PML-N meeting and pointed out that the PML-Likeminded has not merged into the PML-N but has just formed an electoral alliance with it.

They said Humayun’s participation in the PML-N meeting was a serious violation of the party discipline. Some of the leaders demanded that Humayun be issued a show-cause notice. However, the meeting concluded that he would be summoned and asked to justify his action.

The chairman of the party’s steering committee raised the issue of misappropriation in the party funds and insisted that the party funds should be used in a transparent way.
