Anti-terrorism courts: Police urged to speed up investigations

LAHORE: Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik of Lahore High Court has directed police officers to enhance the pace of investigation in terrorism cases and beef up security measures for judges, prosecutors, advocates, witness and staff at the anti-terrorism courts. The judge issued the directions at a quarterly meeting to review the performance of the anti-terrorism courts of the Punjab. He also reviewed the previous quarterly performance report of the courts. Judges of the anti-terrorism courts, the home secretary, the additional inspector general for investigations, the capital city police officer, the prosecutor general, the prosecution secretary and regional police officers from all over the province attended the meeting.
