Man acquitted of murder charges after eight years

A district and sessions court acquit a man accused of murder on Thursday.

A district and sessions court acquitted a man accused of murder on Thursday.


The second additional district and sessions judge, West, Romana Siddiqui, released Haji Abdul Samad when the prosecution could not link him with the alleged offence after almost eight years. Samad and three others, Imdad Ali, Ayesha and Qaisra, were charged of killing Naseem Akhtar in April 2004. The charges against the latter three had already been dissolved. The case, no. 106/04, under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 109 (abetment) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code was lodged in Saeedabad police station.
