Departmental action: DPO punishes 20 cops

The DPO says poor performance will not be tolerated and further action will be taken against the negligent officials.

BAHAWALPUR: District Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik on Thursday ordered disciplinary action against 20 police officials for neglecting their duties.

Constable Danish Naveed has been dismissed from service, Head Constable Mohammad Arif has been demoted to constable, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Iqbal’s one-year increment has been stopped, Assistant Sub-InspectorAllah Dita and ASI Mohammad Arif’s one-year promotion has been stopped, drivers Mohammad Shahid and Mazhar Iqbal’s promotion has been stopped for two years and Inspector Parvez Iqbal Bajwa, ASI Mukhtar Ahmad, ASI Shabeer Ahmad, ASI Abdul Ghaffar, ASI Mohammad Ramazan and Head Constable Mohammad Ajmal have been served show cause notices. The DPO said poor performance would not be tolerated and further action would be taken against the negligent officials.
