LAHORE:

The Punjab University (PU) and the Virtual University (VU) have agreed to share airtime and programming on their media channels.

According to a Memorandum of Under-standing signed here on Thursday, news, academic programmes and documentaries produced by PU will be aired on Virtual University’s TV channel, while content produced by VU will be broadcast on PU’s FM 104.6 radio channel.

The agreement was signed by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Mujahid Kamran and VU Rector Prof Naveed Malik.

Prof Kamran said the agreement would allow both universities to benefit from each other’s resources and experiences. He said such agreements helped strengthen higher education in Pakistan.

Prof Malik said that he hoped the VU would benefit from the vast resources of the PU. VU Managing Director Tajdar Alam said that the agreement did not entail charges on airtime sharing for either university.
