BEIJING: The Chinese government announced on Monday that it would provide an additional $29.4million of humanitarian aid to Pakistan for the reconstruction of flood hit areas.

The Chinese government had previously given an estimated $19million in humanitarian relief to Pakistan.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu stressed on Sept 2 that China's assistance to flood-hit Pakistan was sincere, timely and unconditional. She said China would continue to offer Pakistan support and help for the reconstruction.

According to an online news report published on August 31, a Chinese medical team had received up to 1,451 patients in Thatta.

A Chinese business man also donated $146,557 for flood victims, stating that Pakistan and China enjoy a special relationship.

LG Wang | 14 years ago | Reply To Jai: Please do not mix different things together and treat them as if they were one. It's stupid to do so. China only crushes those secessionists, not Uighr muslims. Uighur muslims are Chinese nationals, and China treat them equally as all the other Chinese citizens so long as they don't engage in secession. Sino-Pakistani relationship is ever-lasting, and no matter how you disparage it, it won't change. We love our Pakistani friends.
