LAKKI MARWAT:

Four officials of the agriculture department, who were kidnapped from Masti Khel area in Frontier Region (FR) Lakki Marwat eight months ago, were recovered on Wednesday.

FR Lakki Marwat Assistant Political Agent (APA) Fayaz Sherpao told The Express Tribune that the men reached the district around 6:00am, after a jigra of tribal elders from Masti Khel and Ali Khel, and the kidnappers in Miranshah managed to secure their release.

Sherpao said the kidnapped men were officials of the agriculture extension programme for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. They were kidnapped from their residences on March 8.

Political administration officials along with the tribesmen were in search of the abductors all this while.

“They were taken to Miranshah by the Asmatullah alias Shaheen group, who is involved in criminal activity in FR Tank,” the official said, adding that Rs200 million was demanded in ransom. “We recovered them without paying any money,” he claimed.

No writ of Government. Tribal Jirgas are more influential and powerful. Why not to return to stone age.
