KARACHI: Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, the city commissioner, has asked his deputies to find out the contact information of parents refusing to have their children vaccinated against polio. The decision was taken after an 18-month-old boy, Suleman Abdul Rehman, from Chhota Maidan contracted the disease recently. Deputy Commissioner Central Dr Saifur Rehman learnt that the boy’s father refused vaccinations for his baby every time a team would visit his house. Zaidi warned that legal action will be taken against parents refusing the vaccine and their names will be made public. He urged the people to cooperate with the vaccination teams and help the government fight polio.
