No-show at the Election Commission

Out of the seven parliamentarians summoned by the Election Commission in the fake degree case, only one appeared on Monday.

Besides MPA Maulvi Ubaidullah from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, all other parliamentarians, allegedly holding fake degrees, decided to send their lawyers in their place.

Senator Asrarullah Zehri remained absent, despite the several notices sent to him by the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the counsel for MNA Akhundzada Chatan objected to the EC procedure and said that no formal show-cause notice has yet been issued to any accused parliamentarian hence no criminal proceedings can be initiated.
