Khan had said that PTI, once in power, will end corruption in 19 days and terrorism in 90 days.
Sharif was speaking at a rally in Swat with the party’s regional leader, Amir Muqam, where he was present to lay the foundation stone of a kidney centre, which he said, will one day become a full-fledged university, too.
Sharif said that the politicians contending for upcoming general elections should talk about “realistic solutions to solve people’s problems” and termed the promises made by politicians as mere “election gimmicks”.
“I get scared when I think about the problems prevailing in Pakistan at the moment – Karachi is burning, while security situation in Balochistan is on a downward spiral,” he said. “When we [PML-N] come into power, we will make things happen – we have the background to prove our credibility.”
The PML-N leader said that it was only his party that had the “team which was equipped mentally and practically to deal with the problems of Pakistan.”
Sharif said that the politicians should “forget about ruling over people” and said that it was about time that politicians started to serve people. “You [politicians] should enter politics only if you have the intent to serve the people,” he said.
He said that his party, the PML-N, had always considered politics as “a means of serving people.”

Honesty, sincerity, devotion, dedication, unity and hard work always play the most important role to resolve the problems but unfortunately Pakistani leaders don't have these above mentioned qualities and features to resolve the Pakistan's and its nation's problems this is why they only claim verbally and give days and dates regarding the resolving the problems and whoever has the above mentioned qualities and features and says that I can do so he/she is always criticized badly instead of showing for him/her helpful and co-operative hands and attitudes and Imran Khan is facing the same situation from the other politicians......
They don't care about anybody's problems, its all make-believe. All the Sharif brothers care about is grasping absolute power and becoming monarchs. It was this infatuation which brought them down in their previous terms and no doubt they haven't learnt a single thing.
@Bhatti: "90 Days or 90 Months! My Vote is for PTI!" . What if it turns out to be 90 years?
@nisar ali: no, but he should have the guts to criticize terrorism and favor women education and democracy, espacially in swat
90 Days or 90 Months! My Vote is for PTI!
Nawaz Sharif and PML-N's vision for next 5 years: 1)Rat filled hospitals in every district 2)Roads and more roads 3)Laptops in every house 4)Dengue mosquitos in every household 5)Yellow Cabs all over Pakistan
and all of this will go in the Guiness Book of World Records...................indeed no miracles needed Mian Sahib
Musharraf will be standing next to NS on the stage very soon that day is not to far INSHALLAH :-).
" ... one cannot rely on anyone these days,...... ديکھ لو شريف بھايی، کيا زمانہ آگيا؟ one has to do every thing (bad) on his own....". Every one wants to become a Nawaz Sharif; a steel-man, paying Rs. 5000 in taxes for a year, ........in 90 days. Can you believe it? .... what?....oh the Joker says what about the properties in other countries?.... yeah, yeah, yeah ميں اسی طرف آ رھا تھا۔۔۔..This story of Rs. 5000 in taxes,....you know I lost everything in Bhutto's days...I had to make it back.....I suffered great financial losses... and my father got 'sick' and decided to join Zia's gang to make some money, and, in the meantime, make his own country in Lahore....and to make a long story short, I become the King of Lahore. Kings don't pay taxes. Do they? Let's discuss our ideal society of the USA. They do the same. Romney did not pay his taxes. Why should I? I, strongly, believe in democracy and I will practice it with all it's qualities; negative and positive, may be...and what was the question again, Mir Sahib?.... You want me to talk about women's education?..no, no, no... I am not your enemy. Look at Benazir, she got education and what happened? you need kidneys, not education. Education is a bad influence. ...... You know what?.... I quit. I cannot face a disgrace so boldly. I need an adviser to give a live interview..... After all I am not the 'Nawaz Sharif' of Pakistan. I am just a 'Joker' people,....... I mean.... my fellow country-men. Zindabad...Zindabad. ....Jeena yahan, marna yahan, Is ke siwa.......
@Majid Urrehman: What was the health and education budget during PMLN governments? And once you find the answer to it and how much it should be, you will be able to solve the puzzle yourself as to whether Pakistan needs NS next or IK next. Secondly, as Sartaj Aziz implied in his book, what makes NS a success is also the very cause of his failure.
@Majid Urrehman:
When given a chance in the 1990s to govern Pakistan, PMLN more than delivered on all fronts. Major reforms took place in the banking sector, taxation, foreign exchange regulations, the telecom sector, import and export, aviation industry and other segments of business saw unprecedented growth. There was a major thrust on privatisation and deregulation
And all benefits from these "reforms" accrued to PML-N cronies and the Ittefaq group, which were promptly sent via Ilford to be invested in billion pound property empire in the UK. Well done, PML-N!
Vote PTI and throw this trash where it belongs--in the gutter!
for NS 25 yrs even not enough..
"Pakistan’s problems cannot be miraculously resolved in 90 days: Sharif" ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 90 days or not, any resolution will be a miracle:)
@nadeem:
Nahh!!! He is not! He has given the time duration and we believe that he will do it.
Nawaz sharif on the other side is saying that he get scared when he thinks of the problems of Pakistan and that the problems can not solved over night. Now just have another glance at his statement. How can we elect a person (leader?) who gets scared of the problems and can not even give a rough duration to the people? I think the youth of Pakistan is far better than him because we don't get scared and we want to solve the problems as soon as possible!
Imran Khan! We are with you and we trust you!
Just like every kid cannot pass exam with flying colors, your party cannot serve people of Pakistan. Even Nawaz Sharif couldn't do it when he was in power two times, one for span of 3.5 years and one for span of 1.5 years.
If you change the people in charge, the problem is solved overnight. First point out the problem, the problem is that we are in decline and it is solved when we take a turn. And then conditions improve with time. So I think that the appointment of any solid government can bring a change and motivate a lot of expatriates to return and work for a better Pakistan just because of the thought of improvement. And it can do that within 90 days.
Guys, guys! Chill! Everybody knows this guys was deposed by the army for standing up to them. He never got the chance.
pakistan is doomed............no one can solve its problems... :D
He knows very well the mess created by PML and PPP cannot be cleaned in 90 days but we have confidence on Imran Khan
Absolutely right. Its Ik who is making fool of his supporters by claiming that. He has not fulfilled his previous promises like case against Kh. Asif, case against MQM etc. A long list can be presented.
such loser mentality!
This man and his brother can't even run Punjab! Shehbaz have kept over a dozen ministries for himself and they talk about team?
well you are Mr 10 percent took the country to stone age so for sure this need few decades to bring it to normal.
Mush was the man who paid off all the debt than we call him go Mushi go....now I think we start calling him come back Mushi and save us again or IK.
You are so hope less Nawaz.everyone knows your past and present we have no trust in you. You have no democracy in your party and yet you believe in it.For Allah's sake you have sucked all the blood out of this nation just leave us alone and go and live in your palaces in UK and Jeddah.
When given a chance in the 1990s to govern Pakistan, PMLN more than delivered on all fronts. Major reforms took place in the banking sector, taxation, foreign exchange regulations, the telecom sector, import and export, aviation industry and other segments of business saw unprecedented growth. There was a major thrust on privatisation and deregulation. As a result of this, the economy boomed with a GDP growth of eight per cent in 1992 — the highest for any civilian government since independence.
Although taxes were lowered for all segments, including the corporate sector, by 1999, Pakistan had achieved a tax-to-GDP ratio of 13.4 per cent, which has now fallen to just nine per cent and is a major stumbling block towards investment in social sectors as well as infrastructure projects. On the foreign relations front, major policy initiatives were undertaken, including the peace process with India, culminating in Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s visit to Pakistan in February 1999 and the signing of the Lahore Declaration. If the Kargil adventure had not taken place, the Lahore Declaration would have enabled Pakistan and India to forge closer trade and economic relationships with millions on both sides of the border benefiting from the economic boom.
The genius speaks! yes Mr. Genius it will take more than 90 days! At least we agree on something.
LOL at never bowed down to any dictator. He and his party was infact the product of a dictator zia and supported by the establishment in early 90s
Wasn't Ameer Muqam a "Musharref ka saathi"?
PTI folk are saying that the wreck you Mr NS caused to the country's economy will be all fixed within 90 days by the magic wand which they posses. But you needn't agree with every word others say.
Mian sb, do u want to tell that it needs 11 years of ur mentor Zia to solve the problems of the country
Let me guess, third term can fix it?
Nawaz Shariff should not be allowed to stand in the election, first he should clear his name.
NS there is an updated version of ninty days which now promises end corruption in one day. 'Azmaish shart hay'!-Black magic.
@nadeem: He is not wrong in fact he is quiet right ! He said things will straighten out in 90 days since billions of rupees are eaten up by the top tiered leadership & management. If honest people are placed in all the top positions then we will see the difference in 3 months for sure. Imran Khan, unlike Nawaz (who has sugar mills, land & factories) & Zardari (landlord & runs businesses) does not have any personal interest to take care of, therefore I'm 200% sure that as a PM he will fix many of our BIG problems. vote for Imran Khan
I am sure these politicians think that the masses are not intelligent enough to offer them a program of rebuilding. They also think that a manifesto is not something they should think of as it may bind them to do something. Here are my questions to these politicians
What different are you going to do to the present policy in counetering terrorism. Knowing what the influencing powers will allow you to do.
What different are you going to do to elevate the standard of education and ensuring that we don't have child labours but lots of child students at Schools.
What different are you going to do to ensure that we all get clean water to drink, electricity to educate and build, and have access to hospitals and doctors to stay healthy
I am sure if someone asks them that how are you going to raise the standard of living of people than the answer would be very subjective mean to say nothing constructive in terms of measures but promises. Promises don't open schools or hospitals or provide clean water but economic policies do. Have these political parties got a ecomomic policy to show how the country and people will progress. Or have they the policies how to plunder what we the people of Pakistan are left with. I am sure in all honesty they have the later policy i.e to plunder. May God help us and protect us from DEAD WOOD.
I scratch your back.. you scratch mine...
Nawaz-Sharif, has deteriorated the health-sector, the diminishing state of the rat-filled hospitals, to sub-category medicines, playing wtih the lives of the common people..
Standing next to Musharraf's brother and bashing other people for talking dictator's party members? Shameless. Mian Sb. Hun Jaan dio, Awam di vaari aan dio.
he is saying correct . he is only hope
Yes, NS is right. We have to be realistic rather than idealistic. IK, don't try to fool the nation
Stop distorting facts please. No one is saying Pakistan's problems will be solved in 90 days, what is said concrete steps will have to be taken within 90 days to resolve the crisis we are facing.
and you cant even solve in 90 months... you can't fool the nation....
PTI has lost its identity and the media space it enjoyed an year ago. The party is crumbling which is evident from exodus of prominent leaders. Imran Khan is busy resolving party disputes and is not in a position to campaign.
Apart from political affiliation, 19 and 90 days claim seems too big. I doubt the argument that one person even without team can change Pakistan. If it were true,SS would have made significant impact in Punjab.
Ya we know, but You Can NOT do in 90 Years
In short you are going to give us more of the same.
And you can not solve the crises in even 90 years
You are right. You CAN'T. You need 10 terms to do it. But Imran CAN.
Thats why its called a Miracle ...... ;p
You're right Mr. Sharif. They can't be solved in 90 days. However, I'm sure that in five years most problems can be resolved. Please tell what your party has done for Punjab (read Punjab, not Lahore) over the past five years? I'll be waiting...
The problems of corruption will not even end in 90 years if Nawaz Sharif is given a 6th term in office...........
you even can not solve in 9000 days. this is prove in history.
Look who is talking...Who had the power for five times and still country in crisis...hahahaha...Nawaz Sharif come up with something realistic other then these hollow claims...
Love the photo, right next to Ameer Muqam, the stalwart of PML(N), who never bowed to any dictator
