SU to grant honourary degrees
Syndicate approves grant of Rs1 million for renovation of masjid at Sindh University.
HYDERABAD:
The syndicate of Sindh University, Jamshoro, has decided to grant honourary degrees to late Dr Nabi Bux Khan Baloch and Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo for their contributions to the education sector.
The university’s spokesperson said on Tuesday that the syndicate made the decision in a meeting headed by the institution’s vice chancellor, Prof. Dr Nazir Mughal.
The syndicate also appointed Prof. Anwer Syed as professor emeritus at the university.
It also decided to name the university’s senate hall after Dr Abdul Jabbar Junejo, which it felt had contributed greatly to the institution.
The syndicate also approved a grant of Rs1 million to repair and renovation of Allama I I Kazi Masjid at Sindh University and also extended the health insurance policy of the university’s employees.
