Passenger vehicle catches fire at Jinnah International Airport

KARACHI: A passenger vehicle standing in the apron area of Jinnah International airport caught fire, Express News reported on Tuesday.

What was earlier believed to be a flight kitchen vehicle was actually a shuttle which transports passengers to the airplane, said Express News correspondent Aftab Khan.

However, no passengers were hurt in the incident as the vehicle reportedly caught fire after dropping them off.

Fire tenders and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials reached the scene and the flame was doused successfully.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and statements from the CAA officials are expected soon.
