Five peasant girls gang-raped for ‘demanding wages’
A family of farmers in Punjab had to pay a heavy price upon asking for their wages – five of their teenage girls were allegedly gang raped by eight local landlords in Kitro, Sheikhupura district.
According to B*, a resident of Noon village, his daughter and nieces – all between 14 and 18 years – were abducted by the landlords and taken into the fields, where they were gang raped.
The girls are all unmarried, police officials said.
B and his family, who had two weeks ago temporarily moved to Kitro to work in the fields, had demanded their two-week salary from their employers – Zaheer and Tassadaq, alias Mara Jutt.
In turn, the two ‘infuriated’ landlords and their accomplices warned them of ‘dire’ consequences. Their threats materialised later that night when they attacked B’s dera and tied up his family with ropes, before taking off with the girls.
According to contents of the FIR, B said they managed to set themselves free and set off on a search for the girls and the men. They found the girls in the field, while the accused managed to escape.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the residence of B, the complainant in the case, and directed the police to immediately arrest all the accused.
He also presented cheques to the victim’s family, and assured them that the accused would be brought to justice.
Four out of the eight accused have been identified as Tassadaq alias Mara Jutt, Noor Ahmad alias Noori, Aqeel, Zaheer Ahmad, while the identities of the other four is yet to be ascertained.
The victims were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Sheikhupura.
Narang Mandi Police Station SHO Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal while talking to The Express Tribune said that initial medical reports confirmed that the girls were raped.
A case has been registered with the Narang Mandi police station against the eight accused men, the SHO said.
He added that three of the main accused have been arrested, while the remaining would be arrested soon. *name has been concealed to protect The VICTIMS’ privacy

' why there is a tendency to leave every thing on Allah ? either to punish or to reform the offender. . We need to think why are we passive in the society ?. Why there is no hue and cry in the same village against the perpetrators? A system that attempts to impose the inflexible feudal system of a powerful minority over a passive majority or the will of a powerful majority over a helpless and powerless minority should be brought into check before it spirals out of control.

Me lord, It’s hard to disagree with your judgment, Sir. You have covered all aspects of the case, with a remarkable insight in the ways of man. But still, one possibility escaped your imagination. You didn't suggest a 3rd hanging in case STD was transmitted to the victims during the 'action' you referred to.

"Hang them please!!!" Killing people, even for crimes such as these, doesn't solve the problem. Put them in jail, rise above draconian traditions and support and care for these poor people.

All these culprits should be divested from their properties, and the same should be given to the hapless victims. And then these men should be hanged from the nearest tree in full public view, taliban style. Additionally, they should be hanged twice in case they failed to give the minimum physical satisfaction to the victims while in action.

Mr. Khadame Ala trying to compensate victim's family with money. It is purely a criminal case police should investigate the matter and present it to the honorable court of law. CM interference is showing the lack of control over law enforcement agencies in Punjab.
I deeply feel sorry for these girls. But this is what you get if you condone a feudal system in the land of the pure. Rather than praying start getting your act together. Last week it was the in-law of a politician who thought he could mistreat people in a bakery. These are not deranged men, they believe it is their right. It took the rest of the world also some time and a few revolutions to get them on the right track, what are you waiting for? Dark ages do not disappear by themselves!

Very depressing to read of similar incidents on a regular basis. It's clear the courts are not meting out the strongest punishment for these low life criminals. Whilst you cannot condone an for an eye as being barbaric as I do not wish the same fate on any other innocent girl. The men responsible should be punished by having their land & farm taken away & given to the poor family. The courts can do this & the government can make the laws for it to happen. Here in the UK criminals are not allowed to benefit from their crime. The same should be be implemented in Pakistan.

Dear Maulanas! please arrange a protest, ask people to come on the streets... we need a Ghazi Ilm Din Shaheed, a Mumtaz Qadri. Five peasant girls in a village have been gang-raped open in the street by a feudal and his men. But Maulana won't respond for no one has committed the unpardonable sin of blasphemy.
If whats written here is true word by word, the culprits should be publically hanged. I see 4/5 years of case before the poor family agrees to compensation, Justice delayed is Justice Denied...Hell with such a constitution/judicial system which believes in immunities and concessions for the powerful.

Before people start bashing PML-N for this, they must understand many of us have turned beast in our daily lives. We pay no heed to poor girls being gang raped and this story will be history in matter of few days. We pay no attention to poor dying around us. @landlords, have mercy on these poor souls, don't play with God mercy.

Very sad & heart wrenching, Mr. CM besides compensations focus on appropriate punishment as well! Perhaps there is no remedy for lost dignity. We can’t fail to remember cases of Mukhtaran Mai, Sonia Naz and many other victims which are still struggling for the justice.
