China’s Chen Long put on an impressive performance to beat Malaysian world number one Lee Chong Wei in the final of the Hong Kong Open yesterday, according to arabnews.com.

The second seed won in straight sets beating the Olympic silver medallist 21-19, 21-17. “I didn’t think that I would win, but I thought I had the ability to beat him so the results are pretty good,” said Chen. Meanwhile, Lee expressed disappointment at losing to a player he beat convincingly in the semi-finals of the London Olympics. “I came in and tried to win but it didn’t work out but I got to the finals and enjoying the tournament here in Hong Kong,” said Lee. “These past few days, I haven’t been on top of my game.”
