Holy bath: Data Sahib’s shrine gets ritual wash

Shrine washed with rose water, special prayers offered.

LAHORE: The ritual washing of the tomb of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-hajveri popularly known as Data Gunj Bukhsh ahead of his 969th annual urs was held on Saturday. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest on the occasion. Auqaf Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Data Darbar Religious Affairs Committee Chairman Senator Ishaq Dar, National and Provincial Assembly Members Pervaiz Malik, Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Ramazan Siddique Bhatti, Ejaz Ahmed and the auqaf secretary were present on the occasion. The ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Quran. The shrine was washed with rose water. Special prayers were offered for the prosperity of the country. Later, Sharif reviewed security measures at Karbla Gamay Shah and talked to organisers of mourning processions about the arrangements.
