Muharram security: All eight Faisalabad bazaars sealed

43 hotels and students’ hostels also vacated.

FAISALABAD: All eight major bazaars of the city have been sealed to thwart any terrorism bid on Ashura. Besides, 43 hotels and students’ hostels have also been vacated. Extraordinary security measures have been taken in Faisalabad which has been declared a sensitive city in Muharram. The participants of Majaalis and processions are allowed to enter the venue only after being frisked 50 metres away from the spot.Security cameras have also been installed along the Ashura procession route and pillion riding is banned in the city. Over 5,000 officials are deputed to guard the central Ashura procession.
