As the medics’ strike has been continuing in Balochistan for over a month, people have started consulting homeopathic doctors.
“There is no end in sight to the doctors’ strike. And now we are recommending homeopathic treatment for our patients,” Dr Adeel Ahmed told The Express Tribune.
He demanded that the government take the issue seriously and appoint army doctors in state-run hospitals to facilitate the ailing humanity,” he added.
On the other hand, an official of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) said that they were treating all civilian patients coming to the facility.
On Friday, emergency services as well as other departments in state-run hospitals remained locked due to the doctors’ strike and patients had to return home after waiting for hours in queues.
According to health department sources, nurses and paramedical staff were providing first aid to patients at all hospitals. A complaint has been sent to the Chief Minister House against the absenting doctors, sources added.
