No causalities: Mortar shell damages house, school

PESHAWAR: Boundary wall of a house was slightly damaged when a mortar shell hit a house in Abdarra village on the outskirts of Peshawar on Thursday. The police said that the target of the attack seemed to be the Bacha Khan International Airport but the mortar shell landed on a house belonging to Habibullah in a nearby village. According to SHO Sabz Ali, no casualties were reported. In another incident, two students were injured when a mortar shell landed on a private school in Bara. The mortar shell was fired from an unknown location and landed on the Shaheen Public School building in Sheen Darang area. The injured students were identified as Hidayat and Haibat, both now in stable condition. Two Akka Khel peace militia volunteers were also injured when a bomb planted on a roadside exploded. They were on their way to Bara Bazaar when the incident occurred, said a political administration official, Javaid.
