LANDIKOTAL/ JAMRUD:

A paramilitary vehicle was partially destroyed when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Landi Kotal on Thursday.

“The personnel just got bruises and were not taken to the hospital,” said a khasadar force official, Tikka Khan.

Around 10:30am, five khasadar personnel were on their way to the Torkham border when the bomb exploded as their vehicle reached the Sado Khel area, he added.

Another vehicle supplying goods to Nato forces was also targeted when an IED exploded on Bypass Road in Jamrud, Khyber Agency.

A convoy of containers was heading to the Torkham border after being screened from Takhta Baig checkpoint when a low-intensity bomb exploded on the road, said a Jamrud political administration official, Asmatullah Wazir.

The bomb was planted by unidentified militants but no loss was reported.
