Social welfare: 10 of 71 uplift schemes completed

Rs40 million had been released for 18 development schemes in MPA Shahid Hussain Bhatti’s constituency.

HAFIZABAD: As many as 10 out of 71 development schemes launched under the District Development Programme announced by the chief minister have been completed in the district. This was reported in a meeting held here on Thursday. District Coordination Office Sohail Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting. Executive DO (Finance) Khawar Kamal, DO Nauman Hafeez, EDO (Health) Dr Farooqu Azam Tarar and Additional Director Local Government Nasir Warraich were also present. Khawar told the meeting that 24 schemes to construct streets and drains had been launched in MNA Saira Afzal Tarar’s constituency at a cost of Rs60 million. He said six of the 24 schemes had been completed. He said Rs40m had been released for 15 schemes in MPA Asadullah Arain’s constituency. He said Rs40 million had been released for 18 development schemes in MPA Shahid Hussain Bhatti’s constituency. Three of the 18 schemes had been completed. He said the Punjab government had decided to release Rs40 million to speed up development projects in Saira Afzal Tarar’s constituency.
