Sindh government announces three-day public holiday on 8, 9 and 10 of Muharram.
KARACHI:
Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Thursday that a strategy was being devised for suspending cellular services starting tonight, Express News reported.
He was speaking to media outside the Rawalpindi District Headquarters Hospital were he had come to see injured law enforcement officials.
The Government of Sindh has also announced a three-day public holiday on 8, 9 and 10 of Muharram.
All educational and government institutions in Sindh will remain closed on all three days.
The government has repeatedly made claims of heightening security in order to prevent untoward incidents during the holy month, along with suspending cellular services and banning pillion riding.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in contradiction with its earlier statements, has said that the army has accepted the Sindh government’s request of providing security in the province.
