Progressive steps: PESCO gives 36,136 new connections

Total of 36,136 new connections to domestic, commercial, industrial and irrigation consumers have been provided so far

PESHAWAR: In order to facilitate power consumers and stop electricity theft, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has initiated the provision of new electricity connections. According to details provided by Pesco officials, a total of 36,136 new connections to domestic, commercial, industrial and irrigation consumers throughout Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have been provided so far. Pesco Chief Executive Tariq Saddozai appealed to customers to install power meters and use electricity legally to prevent overburdening the system and ensuring stable power supply. Installation of power meters and removal of direct hooks will not only increase Pesco’s revenue, but will also ensure regular supply, he added. Meanwhile, Pesco detection and recovery teams recovered around Rs17 million from defaulters throughout the province.
