Custom officials at the Mumbai Airport detained the Women’s World Cup 2013 trophy yesterday, which was brought to the host city for a promotional event, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Customs officer PM Saleem said that they had informed authorities in the past that the trophy cannot be part of the baggage. “The trophy should be brought through cargo,” said Saleem. “Prior permissions are required to bring them as part of baggage.” An ICC spokesperson, however, said that the ICC possessed all the required documents to avoid this. “Despite having all the appropriate paperwork, Mumbai Customs decided to confiscate the trophy. This is the third time,” he said.
