Surgical efficiency: Medical college receives Rs5 million
Donation would be used to purchase simulators for training students in surgical skills.

KARACHI:
Getz Pharma Limited has donated Rs5 million to the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). The donation, which was made on the occasion of college’s golden jubilee, would be used to purchase simulators for training students in surgical skills and to construct a laboratory. Prof. Syed Tipu Sultan, Prof. TariqMahmood Khan, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and Prof. Asghar Butt received the cheque on behalf of CPSP. The simulation devices will be used to teach basic surgical techniques and will enable the timely detection and analysis of errors. Training surgeons on simulators before they are assigned patients will also reduce the number of litigations.
