BAJAUR: Afghan militants fired upon a house in Pakistan from across the border, leaving one child dead and two women injured, Express News reported.

The firing occurred from a border town in Afghanistan and targeted a home across the Durand Line in Bajaur Agency, which is located in the FATA region of Pakistan and shares a 52 km border with Afghanistan’s Kunar Province.

The strife-torn Bajaur Agency region witnessed a large-scale operation by the Pakistan military against Taliban insurgents four years ago and a four year old curfew had only recently lifted. In the last two months, the people of the region have fallen victim cross-border shelling and continual clashes with Taliban militants.
