Daniel Pearl Case: Fifth accused presented in court

The fifth accused in the Daniel Pearl murder case was presented for the first time before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Hyderabad on Saturday, following his arrest a couple of months ago from Karachi.


Syed Hasham, who was nominated in the murder case of the Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, was presented before ATC judge Muhammad Javed Alam at the Central Jail Hyderabad.

Omer Saeed Sheikh, the mastermind behind the murder, was given death sentence, while Salman Saqib, Fahad Naseem and Sheikh Adil got a 25-year imprisonment sentence in 2002.  CID police former SP Abdul Rasheed, DSP CID Rao Aslam and DSP Javed Abbas appeared before the ATC and recorded their statements on Saturday.

Omer Saeed Sheikh, the mastermind behind the murder, was given death sentence,

Lets not forget that was over 10 years ago - no appeal has been heard in court - no attempt to execute. Classic Pakistan.
