QUETTA:

A shutter-down strike was observed in different parts of Balochistan on Friday to pay tribute to Haq Nawaz Bugti.  The strike call was given by Balochistan Republican Party (BRP).

Haq Nawaz Bugti, son of BRP’s spokesperson Sher Muhammad Bugti was allegedly killed in a clash with the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) in Nushki district. He was not a part of the BRP.

The FC, however, has out right rejected the occurrence of the clash. The BRP also announced a 40-day mourning period.

The local administration had taken strict security measures by deploying heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies to thwart any untoward incident.

The strike was observed in Sariab, Double Road, Huda Brewery Road and other Baloch populated areas in the provincial capital. It was also observed in Nushki, Mastung, Hub Turbat, Mand, Tump and Panjgur.
