Time barred: Medicine overcharging petition dismissed

LAHORE: The consumer court, on Friday, dismissed a petition, seeking damages of Rs525,356, against Aziz Sons Pharmacy on the grounds that the cause of action in the petition did not fall in its jurisdiction and that the statue of limitations had run out.

Petitioner Raheel Ahmed said that on January 27 he had purchased two tablets of Nezkil (600mg) for Rs356 from the respondent. He said that later he had bought the same medicine from another medical store for Rs200.

He said he had been overcharged every time he bought the medication from the respondent.

Ahmed said the respondent refused to return the money he had been overcharged by.
