Hindering education: Boys school blown up in Charsadda

“Two rooms and the boundary wall were completely destroyed,” says police.

CHARSADDA: A primary school for boys in Sardheri area of Charsadda was blown up by unidentified persons on Friday. Sardheri police official, Lal Sher, said the explosives were placed on the boundary wall of the school and detonated around 1am. “Two rooms and the boundary wall were completely destroyed,” he said, adding that windows of nearby houses were smashed due to the impact of the explosion. He added that no human loss was reported and the watchman of the school was not on duty. According to a bomb disposal squad official, the bomb weighed five kilogrammes. An education official in Charsadda said that so far 23 schools have been destroyed in the district.
