Egyptian president calls Pervaiz Ashraf to discuss attacks on Gaza
The bombing has already killed as many as 16 of Palestinians, injured over a hundred people and reduced several buildings to rubble. Morsi Ashraf for Pakistan’s support when the Palestine issue is raised at international forums specially the United Nations Security Council.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan strongly condemns Israeli air attacks in Gaza which have targeted not only the Hamas leadership but also innocent civilians. He said that Pakistan considers the Israeli action a grave violation of international law and all humanitarian norms. Additionally, Ashraf expressed his apprehension that Israeli threats of a ground offensive against Gaza are even more disturbing.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to say that unless the Palestinian problem is resolved, peace in the Middle East will remain elusive.
The Prime Minister expressed concern that the escalation in violence could lead to a spreading of conflict which may engulf the region.
Ashraf said that Pakistan supports the quest of the state of Palestine for membership in the United Nations and believes that Palestine cannot be denied this right anymore. The Prime Minister also assured the President of Egypt of Pakistan’s support in the UN Security Council.
Pakistan is non-permanent member of the Security Council.

For all of you that are saying current fight started with Hamas firing rockets into Israel is untrue. It was started after a Hamas leader was killed.
Where are Arab leaders(Saudi,Qatar,Jordan) plus Turkey???? Where is their so called Jihad which they have started Against Assad regime,why not against Israel????? let me say they are Munafiqeeens (hypocrites) and Cowards too.
Do we Pakistanis know that 25% of the population of Israel are Muslims? They travel with Israeli passport & avail full facilities as any other Israelis. They even are in IDF also defending Israel from its enemies.
@sensible. What a ridiculous argument. Your criteria for retaliation is that you have to wait until the guy shooting at you actually kills you before you can respond -- that about sum it up? Hamas has fired over 1,000 rockets into Israel this year - at least 3 Israelis have died in the last 24 hours - can't think of a single country (including Pakistan) who would not retaliate.

As a neutral observer , Jews are more than a match to muslims ..In jews holy book its eye for an eye concept which is very similar to muslims religious teaching fight the oppressor ( whether real or invented !) ..Now gaza rockets were fired in 100s towards israel civilian area and israel responded to the rocket launchers in gaza who cowardly stood at terraces of other innocent houses and made those innocent people killed. Will any muslim condemn the rocket attack ? .I guess no ..So expect the more powerful highly advanced technological nation retaliate!.

Egypt-Israel tensions have been going on since the time of Moses(pbuh).And it is likely that history will repeat it self.Pakistan should support egypt and the Palestinian movement until they give us back what belongs to us(old Jerusalem al-aqsa)
Everybody who believes in basic human rights and freedom should support the demands of an independent state for Palestinians. The extreme rightwing occupation govt of Israel has all the power, bombs, planes and their policy is to kill 100 Palestinians for each Israeli injured. Israel is a limited democracy just like the old apartheid South Africa and not for all. It is the sheer number of people targeted and killed that should be of concern to all freedom and peace loving people. The PLO has never been a rightwing Muslim organization but to counter that it is Israel which formed the Hamas. Naturally when PLO could not deliver peace or a state, people of Gaza have turned to Hamas.
@Polpot:If Pakistan is a non-permanent member of UNSC then there are some obligations except Rental Power Projects to fulfill. According to BBC 18 Palestinians and 3 Israelis have died. Now I don't need to teach you basic calculus. Stop every act of the government!!
