Khyber Agency: One security personal killed two injured in rocket attack

Heavy gunfire between militants and Akka Khel peace militia volunteers force insurgents to flee the area.

BARA: A security person was killed and two others were injured when unidentified militants attacked a check-post in Shalobar area of Bara subdivision in Khyber Agency on Thursday.

An official of the paramilitary troops said that militants had fired rockets at the security check-post in Qambarabad. He said that the rockets hit the check-post, injuring three security forces.

The official added that forces retaliated and started shelling the militants, but they managed to escape successfully.

After the attack was repulsed, the injured personnel were rushed to a hospital in Peshawar.

Meanwhile in another incident in Sheen Darang area of Bara, heavy gunfire erupted between militants and Akka Khel peace militia volunteers forcing the insurgents to flee from the area after which security forces launched a search operation in the area however, no one was arrested.

On Tuesday, three security personnel were injured in Kharmatang area of the tehsil when a road side planted bomb exploded near one of the vehicles part of a convoy.
