KHAIRPUR/ KARACHI:

The provincial government has banned 50 religious leaders and orators from entering some of Karachi’s districts during Muharram. These individuals have been asked to not attend any religious gathering or make any speeches during this period.

Similar arrangements have also been made in other parts of the province, including Khairpur, where Section 144 has been imposed.

A control room has also been set up in the SSP’s office in Khairpur and closed-circuit cameras have been installed to monitor activities in different parts of the city.

Around 10,000 police personnel, including 200 commandoes, will be posted in different districts during the first ten days of the holy month.
