Motorcycle industry: Pakistan to become biggest player soon

He said that the production capacity will be increased to one million units during the next few years.

ISLAMABAD: “Pakistan will be amongst the top five countries in the world which will produce and export high quality motorcycles in the next few years,” said Honda Motor Company Japan Senior Managing Director Tatsuhiro Oyama, Technology Times reported.

He said that the production capacity will be increased to one million units during the next few years. He said that collaboration between the Atlas Group Pakistan and Honda Japan was amongst the oldest in joint venture history of Honda Motor Company anywhere in the world.

With the support of the government through the Economic Coordination Committee, the localisation in the motorcycle industry can continue and bring more profits.

Earlier in June, Atlas Honda CEO Saquib Shirazi announced that Atlas Honda is in the process of preparing a feasibility study for an expansion to one million units, estimated to cost around an $50 million.
