Powerless men go to jail while the powerful get NROs, says Imran Khan
Speaking at a PTI press conference in Islamabad and criticising politicians, Khan said, “These people have made politics into a business and they don’t let any inquiries be conducted.”
He called this the biggest problem of Pakistan.
“A powerful man steals in the country and gets the NRO,” he said, referring to Younus Habib, the owner of Mehran Bank implicated in the Mehrangate case for allegedly having a hand in the creation of the IJI.
“This was also the NRO, they did not let an inquiry be conducted and did not let him be sentenced,” said Khan.
“Only the powerless man goes to jail and this is the tragedy today,” he added.
Khan said that Pakistan was in quicksand.
“Who collects tax and who will end corruption?” he said was the question that needed to be answered.
“The one who cannot do this cannot pull Pakistan out of this quicksand,” he added.
Referring to certain politicians, he said that those who themselves “have allegations against them of taking Rs3.5 million and those who have Rs5 billion in Switzerland yet say they will not tell” cannot pull the country out of this quicksand.
“They will save each other and not take any action except for this noorakushti and giving statements,” said the PTI chief.
He asked why the Supreme Court’s order had not yet been implemented. “When the time for the real job comes, i.e. to investigate, where is the FIA inquiry?” Khan said.

If SC order in Asghar khan case is implemented....many politicians including NS stand disqualified......the govt is hesitant to investigate as per SC order because there is case of secret fund use to remove Punjab govt of PML N in SC.....seem understanding reached between PPP and PML N -- no investigation no pursue secret fund case in SC.....
We have tried n tested both major polítical parties....what have they given to the poor? .so, why not try PTI....it will not be worse than what it is today....
You look like ediot to me. Who has no vision. Altaf case is pending. Scott Land Yard need evidences from Pakistan. Corrupt government & allies of Altaf do not permit them to come. He filed case against Khawaja Asif. He took heauge really to South Waziristan bravely. Whereas no politician have courage to go close these area either. Party elections are in process. Now can you compare him with your other beloved politicians.
Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf keeps roaring on the money of political leaders abroad and how that is affecting our country’s development. Imran Khan is known to be a person of means, and this I am quite certain that he has certain obligations abroad, like an ex-wife and sons living with his ex-wife. Does he send the kids any money or he doesn’t? If he does, he either does it from Pakistan, through remittance or has accounts abroad. If he doesn’t, that would speak volumes about the man who preaches morality, ghairat and honor. These are his personal matters and should not be discussed that much, however, something more public is his accomplished project of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
i would have loved if Javed hashmi had accompanied Imran khan in this press conference along with asghar khan. it would have been perfect "PTI hypocricy" if JH had called NS to step down for taking money from ISI in 1990. just like IK crying about tax theft of others while he himself never paid any tax throughout his career till 2001 and he never mentions the name of young abrar ul haq in the list of tax evaders.
@The Truth: I am certain he was there for a reason. However, its a pity that cases could not be proved against him due to inefficient judicial cum investigation methodologies. And one must understand that Money Laundering case are very difficult to prove in our country.

The followers of Deen-e-Lala Land are also requested to shed some light on another scandal which is just about ready to raise its ugly head; financial corruption in PTI, misappropriation of party funds (read Zakat, Chanda, donations etc.) - this is he allegation mentioned specifically in the resignation letter of Rabia Zia and would be fanned rather assidiously in the coming days.

How can IK have negotiations with Taliban who do not believe in Pakistan and its constitution and take pride in killing more than 40 thousand innocent Pakistanis.
Adnan Siddiqi had raised extremely valid questions. Hitherto, I supported Imran but his inaction against men around him leaves doubts whether he is committed to bringing an end to corruption. I need answers from IK or his spokesman. I have never heard them replying to such questions. Abrar ul Haq has also not yet sued the FBR.

@Faisal. Agree that every one has committed mistakes including IK. But the difference is that some people made mistakes that damaged and looted our country. IK's political mistakes don't fall in that category, but most of other politician's mistakes unfortunately resulted in them becoming rich and Pakistanis becoming poor. This is the big difference between IK and others.

But Mr. Khan - you were a member of the 2002-2007 National Assembly and wiggled your way into this particular parliament through an understanding with Mush. Care to tell us as to how many times during those bygone years did you ever speak on Asghar Khan case, Mehran Bank, Nawaz Sharif taking money from the agencies; inside our outside the parliament?
On your bleeding heart for ending corruption collection of taxes; you are hereby implored to ask your 45 year old President of PTI's Youth Wing to either pay up the taxes he owes on a BMW and 23 different bank accounts or sue the FBR and the newspaper which reported such a transgression. While you are at it, please call up your Special Media Advisor Mr. Imran Ismail and inquire from him as to what is his source of income which allows him to commute in a Mercedes E Class and a Cadillac Escalade Sports Utility Truck which by the way does not carry registration plates (blatant disregard for rule of law) and two police guards on Mr. Ismali's protection duties.

I will Vote for President Asif Zardari again. Next five years President Zardari will be able to bring together the urban and rural divide on better terms to strengthen Pakistan economy. Next time around Pakistanis will be working on a new economic model, President Zardari political party the PPP will make difference.
When will people of Pakistan will understand and realize that only one person on Earth named Mr.Imran Khan can save Pakistan? At the moment there is no respects for Pakistan and Pakistani around the globe . we have been treated like 4th world country all over the world. Both parties PML-N and PPP are just looting Pakistan. they gave nothing to us , neither in past 25 years, nor they can help and understand our problems in coming years. they are working on just one agenda .. support each other in making bank balances. Please, it is my humble request to all Pakistani, give at least a chance to Imran Khan. we have already given 2-2 chances to each of these parties with no positive results. it is high time that we as a Pakistani think for success and InshaAllah I am hopeful that Imran Khan can make this happen.

Nawaz Sharif give License to Younus Habib for Mehran Bank in 1991. If Younus Habib is so dishonest according to Nawaz Sharif then why issued license to him for Mehran Bank. Also in 1992, Ittefaq Foundaries get Rs. 20 Crore Loan from Mehran Bank, which later write off.
so why was President Zaradri sent to prison for 8 years?
