IED blast: Three security personnel injured

Three security officials were injured in Kharmatang area of Bara tehsil, Khyber Agency on Tuesday.


According to an official, a security forces convoy was patrolling the area when an improvised explosive device planted by the roadside detonated near the vehicle.

He added that after the explosion, security forces surrounded the area and started a search operation. The injured, identified as Zahid, Mir Baz, and Aqeel, were airlifted to a hospital in Peshawar.

In another incident, a mortar shell hit a house in Akka Khel area of Bara injuring five members of a family.

A political administration official of Bara confirmed the incident, adding that the mortal shell landed on Sar Tayab’s house in Khawangi area.

Among the injured were Tayab’s wife, daughter, son Hikmat Khan, and two nephews, Abdur Rauf and Muhammad Rauf. He added that locals shifted them to a hospital in Peshawar. Names of the women were not disclosed.
