‘Calling attention’: New project to supply water to capital

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with China for water supply project. Under the project, which is likely to be completed in four years, water from Indus River will be supplied to the residents of capital. This was stated by chief whip of the Pakistan Peoples Party Syed Khurshid Shah in the National Assembly on Tuesday. He was replying to a calling attention notice of Yasmeen Rehman, Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, Rashid Shamshad, Sattar Bachani and Dr Azra Fazal Pechuno regarding insufficient provision of potable water to Islamabadis. Khurshid Shah informed the National Assembly that according to CDA figures, the total water availability was 75 million gallon for one million residents while its total demand was 175 million gallon.
